Frequently asked questions

Can I continue using Comic Desk inside Flipline?

Yes. Flipline keeps its original single-page Comic Desk. Panelcraft builds a separate multi-page book workspace on the same page engine and editor.

Does Panelcraft upload my drawings?

Book editing, panel image conversion, contact sheets and figure references run in your browser. Projects autosave on this device. Keep a downloaded file for backup or moving to another device.

Can an AI agent create an editable book?

Yes. The book planner returns a documented Panelcraft project and an Open in app link when the encoded project fits the link budget. Larger projects can be downloaded and opened as files.

Where do the templates, poses and sample art come from?

They are original to Panelcraft: simple geometric staging, short sample dialogue and procedurally built mannequin poses. No third-party characters, models, fonts or artwork are included. Artwork you import stays yours and stays on your device.

Is the print preflight a guarantee that my book will print correctly?

No. It checks balloon positions against your safe margin and estimates the resolution of embedded images. Colours, fonts, paper and duplex settings depend on your printer, so always print a proof first.

Can I share a book without a file?

Yes. Export book → Copy share link puts the whole book into the link itself, so nothing is uploaded. Very large books with many images do not fit into a link; download the book file instead.

Can I print a folded booklet directly?

The booklet plan reports the front/back page pairs and blank pages needed for a folded booklet. It does not create a press-ready imposed PDF; arrange pages at the required sheet size and confirm duplex settings with your printer.

Limitations

What Panelcraft does not do (yet):

  • Books contain 1–12 pages and at most 24 million embedded characters. Each page retains the Comic Desk limits: 12 panels, 36 balloons and 6 megapixels.
  • Panel artwork is a snapshot. Continue detailed painting in Flipline or Lumina and reimport the image.
  • System-font lettering uses estimated glyph widths; review the exported art before print. No font embedding, CMYK separation or exact typography guarantee. Bleed export repeats the outermost page pixels; it cannot add artwork beyond the page edge.
  • Contact sheets are overviews up to 8 megapixels. The booklet tool plans page order rather than producing an imposed press PDF.
  • Figure references are original low-poly drawing aids. They do not recreate anatomical scans, MakeHuman assets, skeletal animation or rigged character exports.
